May 21, 2018 Sierra added a new security feature officially named Gatekeeper Path Randomization, though it's also become known as App Translocation from the (non-random) name of the file path under which apps are run. The feature was carried over to High Sierra. Xip archives work back to Mac OS X 10.6. Xcode 8.0 betas are shipped as xip. Anon says: June 29th, 2016 at 9:59 pm @Rosyna I am pretty certain xip files have no effect on gatekeeper randomization / app translocation. I don’t think this is a mistake on Apple’s part either.

Just upgraded to latest MacBook Pro with High Sierra (10.13.6) and I'm having trouble with Gatekeeper.
I have it set to allow apps from 'App Store and identified developers.'

However, it's asking me if I want to open a particular app every single time I open it.
Is there a way to get it to remember my decision so that I'm only asked the first time I try to open an app after downloading?
I know how to switch it off permanently, but I'd like to avoid that.
